Rave on, bro: Washington Avenue Armory wins in court, concerts to resume

The Washington Avenue Armory has won an important court ruling on Thursday when a New York State Supreme Court justice ruled in its favor against the City of Albany, allowing the Armory to resume hosting concerts and events inside the historic arena.

The ruling allows for the Armory to host concerts, including tonight’s Stuff Your Face With Bass: White Massive (doors open at 7 p.m.). Tickets are available by visiting AlbanyArmory.com and using TicketWeb or at the Armory’s box office.

As I’ve been saying all along, a having a DJ perform doesn’t turn an arena into a night club. Having concerts within Albany itself is an enormous positive for the city. While many people will bitch about the types of concerts being held, the truth is that these will take place regardless of venue, and having the revenue pumped into your city is a good thing.
