Tomorrow: Langhorne Slim with Babe City at Valentines
Tomorrow night marks the emergence of Albany’s pop-up supergroup, aptly titled Babe City, which consists of Caroline Corrigan, formerly of the Red Lions and who just returned form a quick Euro tour with End of a Year. Olivia Quillio and Meg Duffy, both of self-titled fame, and MaryLeigh Roohan of MaryLeigh & the Fauves, which requires no introduction.
They’re opening for Langhorne Slim, a singer/songwriter from Pennsylvania that graduated from the highly acclaimed Purchase College Music Conservatory. I have no idea what they sounds like and I’m going to stay ignorant until tomorrow night, where I am sure I will be pleasantly surprised. The wiki says they’re “featured artist on Season 2 of “Sun Studio Sessions,” distributed nationally to PBS affiliate stations” so if you are an NPR cool-dad, know an NPR cool-dad or listen to NPR cool-dad music like that “Bonny Bear” guy who won a Grammy, you will love it. Oh! Apparently there is a banjo. I’m excited.
