Quality events for this weekend vol. 56
Friday, August 24
Keep Albany Boring radio with KC, Knomad (6-8pm) Looney (8-10pm) and Lofi Lobo (10pm-12am). Tune in 90.9fm or via WCDBFM.com
This weekend marks the biggest of the track season in Saratoga. If you spend all your money at the track, you can still head to the Putnam Den afterwards to catch local outfit Maryleigh & the Fauves play for free alongside NYC-based Lunic, as well as DJ Prophet on the decks following. Saturday is the actual Travers Stakes race, with a post time for the first race at 11:35am.
Fourth Friday and Everything Classic with Nate Da Great and DJ Trumastr at Quintessence. One of my favorite spots to go out and dance in Albany, surprisingly so.
Earlier this week it was announced that Savannah’s will be closing its doors come Monday so support their final weekend in business and check out Mirk at 9pm.
‘Comedy Gold Six’ Comedy Showcase at the Mine in Saratoga. Fellow WCDB DJ Ethan Ullman will be hosting this event. Line-up is huge and includes Kevin Marshall among many others.
Saturday, August 25
Last Saturday of the season for Troy Knit flea market. Stop by the Antiques District in Troy from 9am-1pm, especially if you haven’t been yet this summer.
LatinFest in Washington Park with music and local vendors. Should be a really nice day to walk around the park and grab a bite to eat while checking out the activities.
Sunday, August 26
Service Industry Night at McGearys with DJ Trumastr. Music, two for one drinks and a big patio. All you need.
