Andrew’s Music Monday: BOILER ROOM NYC, Bosstone, and more
Damn it’s been a while since I’ve done one of these. Sorry for the irregularity but sometimes there’s just not too much going on. That’s not the case with this past week. BOILER ROOM posted videos from their NYC show that I was lucky enough to attend, among many other releases.
First one here is Rizzla, a DJ from CT but currently in Somerville, MA. This dude played one of the best dancehall sets I’ve heard live and hes having a blast while doing it. Also shout out to the girl in the background.
Next up is a mix Bosstone did for one of my favorite music sites, AO-AO. It’s mostly hip-hop and it’s done quite well. Super good listen.
Hit the jump to listen your way through another Monday.
SBTRKT just popped this one onto his SoundCloud about an hour ago and the photo matches the mood of this track perfectly. Pure summer.
Tony Quattro, another CT based producer who spent some time at Skidmore, has his EP coming out a week from today and he’s made a mix for our friends on the sly, who also have a big review of the EP. The mix is really great and carries a lot of energy.
DJ Sliink just came back from touring Europe and ditched Serato for CDs and his DJing has improved greatly. Pure party in the video below.
Brenmar, who has been working tons over the past year or so has severely slowed down with the amount of mixes that he’s been releasing, so when one does drop, you know it’s going to be awesome. The following mix is done by him for FACT magazine.
Bonus: Bok Bok & L-Vis set, not from NYC, but really super awesome nonetheless. These guys and their label Night Slugs really do their thing super well. That Katz remix is nuts.
