Quality events for this weekend vol. 44
There’s oddly minimal going on this weekend besides Tulip Fest on my radar right now, so make sure to let us know what else is going on. Our new events calendar is very user-friendly for submissions and not all that time consuming, so take advantage!
Friday, May 11
Show at Hudson River Coffee House featuring State Champs (who were featured on KAB earlier this week) are playing alongside Caleb Lionheart, Daybreaker and the Stereo State. Attending this is an example of supporting local music.
The Maine at Northern Lights with guests Lydia & The Arkells. Check out the dude’s beard.
Saturday, May 12
Maaze Show at Valentines featuring Maaze, Kenny Brooks of Ratdog and Timbre Coup. Our ticket giveaway ends tomorrow so if you want in, now’s the time!
Santigold at Northen Lights with local guest DJ Playground. Got a giveaway still running for this so enter it if you want to attend courtesy of KAB and Step Up Presents.
Saturday is beginning of this year’s tulip festival weekend. Check out our post on this year’s line-up here and more information here. I’m probably going to walk around and hand out Keep Albany Boring stickers to anyone who recognizes me (if I can find some). I’ll also more likely tell you all you need to know about about next week’s edition of the monthly party we host, OUTPOST1, which is taking place May 18th at Jillian’s. There’s also things like local vending going on all weekend and even zumba on Sunday in Washington Park. Bands I’m gonna check out are The City Never Sleeps on Saturday at the Amp Stage at 3pm and the Chronicles who play Sunday at 4:45pm also at the Amp Stage.
Sunday, May 13
Mother’s Day – call your mom.
S.I.N. at McGeary’s pub featuring Trumastr
